Buying a Baby Travel System can be one of the most expensive items you buy for your baby and it can also be extremely difficult to decide on which one because of the choice available. Typically Baby Travel Systems consist of a pushchair and a car seat that can be used together to aid baby transportation.

The most popular type of baby travel systems are those that use a pushchair chassis with a Group 0+ car seat. This type of system allows you to easily move your baby from car to pushchair without disturbing them. The car seat then attaches to the pushchair chassis in a secure and safe manner.

When buying a travel system you should look out for the following:

Is there a raincover and footmuff included? These can be expensive to buy separately so consider this when you make your purchase.
Does the pushchair require car seat adapters to allow the car seat to be attached? Some pushchairs (Britax in particular) come with adapters, others don’t. Again, these can be expensive to purchase.
Can a double kit be used? Some modern pushchairs (Britax and Phil & Teds) can have double kits attached allowing two children to be carried.
Warranty length. Pushchairs and car seats tend to have a hard life and although they shouldn’t break, sometimes they do. Bumping a pushchair up and down curbs, collapsing and throwing it in the car boot can take its toll so remember to check warranty length to give you peace of mind.
Range of colours. Most baby travel systems come in a wide range of colours, although black is the most popular it won’t be the cheapest!
